Munnar is a hill station which lies in the Western Ghats of Kerala. The serene beauty and tranquillity is the major tourist attraction of this place. It is located at a height of 6000 ft in Idukki district. Its main attractions are tea plantations. Here there are many protected areas like Nilgiri Thar and the Neelakurinji. It is situated on the banks of three rivers – Madupetti, Nallathanni, and Periavara. It two wildlife reserves: Eravikulam National Park, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. The hill station has a lush green environment and can fell the essence of tea plantation in the air of Munnar. This place was a recreational spot for the British rulers. The temperature here ranges from a maximum of 25-degree Celsius to 19-degree Celsius. The summer season here starts from March till May.
In the month of October weather here is quite pleasant. In this month weather ranges between 15-20 degree Celsius. In the month of November, the weather drops down to 12 degree Celsius. Situated in the ‘Gods Own Country’, Munnar is like a small town, the one shown in a picture book. In January, the weather normally ranges between 10-15 degree Celsius. So, the best time to visit this place is during the month of October.
